"We express satisfaction with the positive 'avis' based on which a
decision will be made in June on the start of accession talks with
Croatia," the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.
The statement says that Croatia is a factor of stability in the
western Balkans and that it has enjoyed Slovenia's support on its road
towards the EU.
"Slovenia, in its capacity as an EU member, will advocate opening the
accession talks with Croatia as soon as possible," the document
reads.
The Slovene media on Tuesday afternoon extensively reported on the
EC's avis on Croatia's application.
