ZAGREB, April 27 (Hina) - The foreign ministries of Croatia and Slovenia are intensively working on the border crossing regime which will become effective after Slovenia enters the European Union on May 1 so as to help Croatian
citizens to avoid difficulties while entering Slovenia after the said date, a spokesman for the Croatian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

1 so as to help Croatian citizens to avoid difficulties while entering
Slovenia after the said date, a spokesman for the Croatian Foreign

A meeting of all Croatian institutions in charge of border issues was
held in Zagreb a month ago. The issue was also discussed in Ljubljana
on April 9 by Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul and his Slovene
counterpart Dimitrij Rupel
Rupel said that Slovenia's joining the European Union would not
negatively affect the travel regime for Croatian citizens while
entering Slovenia, spokesman Dobroslav Silobrcic said.
At other meetings between Croatia and Slovene groups of experts it has
been agreed that appropriate regulations from the Croatia-Slovenia
Cross Border Cooperation Agreement be introduced in a future agreement
between Slovenia and the European Commission so as to meet the needs
of the citizens of both countries living in border areas,
Croatian Ambassador to Slovenia Mario Nobilo should meet officials in
the Slovene Foreign Ministry in the coming days to discuss this
matter.
