MOSTAR, May 10 (Hina) - The trial against seven Bosniaks accused of
committing war crimes against local Serbs in Konjic (southern
Bosnia-Herzegovina) in 1992 began before the Herzegovina-Neretva
cantonal court in Mostar on Monday, the court's president, Mladen
Jurisic, told reporters.#L#
The Hague-based UN war crimes tribunal transferred the authority to
the cantonal court to put this group of Bosnian Muslims on trial. The
tribunal's prosecutors believe that the defendants seriously violated
humanitarian law, Jurisic added.
He expressed conviction that this cantonal court will complete 15 war
crimes cases this year.
