RAB, May 8 (Hina) - After the Netherlands ratified the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) between Croatia and the European Union, there are no obstacles for other countries that have not yet ratified the agreement to do so,
President Stjepan Mesic said on Saturday during a visit to the northern Adriatic island of Rab.
RAB, May 8 (Hina) - After the Netherlands ratified the Stabilisation
and Association Agreement (SAA) between Croatia and the European
Union, there are no obstacles for other countries that have not yet
ratified the agreement to do so, President Stjepan Mesic said on
Saturday during a visit to the northern Adriatic island of Rab.#L#
Asked by reporters about a possible visit to Croatia of the
newly-appointed Foreign Minister of Serbia and Montenegro, Vuk
Draskovic, Mesic said he had invited President Svetozar Marovic and
did not know whom he would bring along in his delegation. He said he
did not know if someone else had invited Draskovic.
When further asked if Draskovic was welcome in Croatia, Mesic replied:
"Svetozar Marovic is welcome."
Responding to the question whether he was surprised by the arrest of
former foreign minister Mate Granic, the president said: "Granic is
certainly more surprised."
Mesic was in the town of Rab to attend festivities marking Town Day.
