"Christ's resurrection is the news of joy that gives us strength, hope
and courage to respond seriously and with commitment to the challenges
of the time in which we live. I remember with pleasure your words
during our meeting in the Vatican.
"Croatia is tirelessly and resolutely headed towards integration with
the European community of free nations and states. This spring we
expect a positive answer to our application for membership of the
European Union.
"Your support and love for the Croatian people, which you have shown
countless times when it was the hardest for us, is valuable and
immeasurable," Sanader said in his message.
The prime minister also extended his best wishes for Easter to the
Archbishop of Zagreb and President of the Croatian Bishops'
Conference, Cardinal Josip Bozanic.
