ZAGREB, Oct 3 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks has written to the speakers of both chambers of the German parliament on the occasion of German Unification Day, the Croatian Parliament's Public Relations Office said in a statement on Monday.

In his message to the Speaker of the Bundestag, Wolfgang Thierse, and the Speaker of the Bundesrat, Matthias Platzeck, Seks said that 3 October 1990 could rightfully be regarded as "one of the truly brightest dates in the history of the world."

Seks also recalled Germany's prominent role in Croatia's struggle for independence and in its efforts to join the European Union and NATO, expressing hope that the two countries would continue to maintain good and friendly bilateral relations.
