The European Day of Languages was introduced at the initiative of the Council of Europe and its purpose is the promotion of Europe's linguistic and cultural diversity. The event is held in Croatia for the fourth consecutive year and this year it is attended by Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Great Britain, and the EC Delegation.
