The director for public relations, Andreas Engel, said the increase was a surprise and that in terms of turnover in Croatia, Germanwings was second after the national airline Croatia Airlines.
Germanwings introduced five new lines over the summer, making Croatia one of the few destinations which could be reached from the company's four centres - Cologne, Stuttgart and Berlin, and from Hamburg as of October 29.
Plans for this year envisage a turnover exceeding EUR380 million and the transport of more than 5.5 million passengers.
Germanwings is owned by the Eurowings Luftverkehrs AG, in which the Germany airline Lufthansa has a 49 per cent interest.
