held a press conference in Belgrade on Wednesday announcing a lawsuit against an Australian newspaper that had accused him of involvement in war crimes committed in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the early 1990s.
Vasiljkovic said that The Australian had accused him of things he had not been accused of "even by the Croats or the Bosnians, my enemies" or by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.
Vasiljkovic said he had met the Serbian Minister for the Diaspora, Vojislav Vukcevic, and the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Pavle, and that they had given him their support and the necessary documents for a lawsuit against the Australian newspaper. He had also written to Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica about his case.
Vasiljkovic, an Australian national, said he was returning to Australia on Thursday.
