Pero Kovacevic told a news conference that al-Qaida had sent a clear message that its attacks refer to all countries that sent its soldiers to Afhanistan.
He said that Croatia is sending its military units to Afghanistan in the operation aimed at removing the Taliban from the areas which, in his opinion, was a high risk operation, given the state of national security in Croatia.
He said that the HSP has drafted an entirely new defence and national security strategy, which will be presented to the public next week.
Asked whether Croatia should withdraw from the anti-terrorist coalition, Kovacevic said that members of the coalition could not reach an agreement even on the definition of terrorism.
