ZAGREB, July 6 (Hina) - The HDZ government has a sufficient number
of parliamentary deputies and a stable parliamentary majority in the Sabor,
the spokesman for the government and the ruling Croatian Democratic Union
(HDZ), Ratko Macek, said on Wednesday after MP Mato Stimac left the HDZ to join
the club of independent deputies led by Branimir Glavas. Stimac
thus joined the club of independent MPs who also used to be HDZ members.
Macek rejected speculations about the HDZ losing the majority in the
Sabor or that early parliamentary elections were in the offing.
There will be no early elections. The regular elections will be held in
November 2007, Macek said.
