During their meeting in Brussels, Minister Grabar-Kitarovic informed Solana of Zagreb's activities in the implementation of the action plan aimed at tracking down the fugitive general Ante Gotovina, and she expressed hope that Croatia's EU membership talks would soon be opened.
Solana reiterated that the doors of the European Union were open for Croatia and that the entry talks would start as soon as it was confirmed that Croatia was fully cooperating with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
He expressed hope that the process of the EU enlargement would continue, regardless of the ongoing discussions inside the bloc after the French and Dutch rejected the European Constitution at recent referendums.
