The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly convened in Washington for its 14th annual conference at which it is scheduled to discuss the OSCE reform, among other things.
The Croatian delegation includes Picula, of the strongest opposition party, the Social Democrats (SDP), and Mario Zubovic and Gordan Jandrokovic of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
Speaking to Hina, Picula recalled that the OSCE has had a mission in Croatia since 1996 so as to help with the settlement of the transitional problems typical for a post-conflict country.
Picula said the OSCE mission to Croatia should not be terminated hastily before the settlement of issues in which Croatia is interested and on which the European Union insists, such as refugee return, judicial reform, strengthening of local self-government, and regulation of the relationship between the media, society and politics.
