The analysis, done by the Financial Agency (FINA), was presented in Zagreb on Monday.
Of 68,981 entrepreneurs who submitted their financial results to FINA in line with the law, 69.4 per cent netted a total of 22.8 billion kuna in profits, up 18.1 per cent from 2003.
On the other hand, 30.6 per cent of them ended the year with total losses exceeding 13 billion kuna, up 19.8 per cent from 2003.
As a result, the economy balance for 2004 was positive, amounting to 9.76 billion kuna, up 27.8 per cent from 2003.
Entrepreneurs' revenue in 2004 totalled 484.1 billion kuna, up 9.9 per cent from 2003, while expenditure totalled 470.5 billion kuna, up 9.7 per cent.
