SPLIT, June 10 (Hina) - The seventh meeting of intergovernmental committee for the implementation of the convention on the validation of degrees in tertiary education in the Mediterranean Arab and European countries was held in the Croatian Adriatic city of Split on 9 and 10 June.

The Split meeting, which was organised by the Croatian Science and Education Ministry and UNESCO, pooled representatives of about 20 countries and UNESCO and European Commission experts.

It was concluded that the convention should be adjusted to new developments in the higher education in Europe with regard to the ongoing Bologna process.

Croatia ratified this convention in 1992.
