With the Action Plan, Croatia is fully committed to locating and arresting Gotovina and I hope it will do it, or that it will prove it has done everything to find him. That is what we will tell the UN Security Council on June 13, del Ponte told reporters in Zagreb after meeting Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.
The prosecutor pointed out that there was still time until June 13 for news in the implementation of the government's Action Plan, but noted that it was too early to say that Croatia was fully cooperating with the ICTY.
Del Ponte said that her report would be made public on Friday, announcing the possibility of sending an identical report to EU foreign ministers if they ask her to do so.
Sanader said he was satisfied with the talks, adding that the meeting showed that "the Croatian government is trusted to be ready and determined to resolve the Gotovina case and to implement the Action Plan in its entirety."
He noted that his government would continue implementing the Action Plan with equal determination.
The prime minister said that he had informed del Ponte of everything that had been done as part of the Action Plan since April 26, and expressed hope that the efforts of the Croatian government would be positively evaluated by the prosecutor, the ICTY, the EU and the UN.
Sanader said he had shared with the prosecutor the information he had received from Italian authorities regarding an investigation into the recently reported arrest of Gotovina in southern Italy. He said that in the interests of the further investigation he could not reveal any details.
