The government has intensified the search for Gotovina over the past few months and has stepped up its efforts to break up the network of his supporters. All relevant bodies are cooperating closely and are trying to obtain as much information as possible. Each piece of information is being checked and the information is being exchanged with tribunal prosecutors, said the source.
The meeting will be hosted by the prime minister and not the minister of justice as has been the case before, because the cooperation between Croatia and the Hague tribunal, although of a legal nature, evidently has political implications, the source said.
The source noted that this did not exclude the existing channels of cooperation with the tribunal via the Ministry of Justice, the Chief Public Prosecutor and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The implementation of the action plan and the prime minister's address to Parliament last week were very well received in diplomatic circles, the source said.
