The agreement was signed in Washington by Croatian Assistant Foreign and European Integration Minister Tomislav Vidosevic and US Assistant Secretary of State Stephen Rademaker. Also present at the signing was Croatian Ambassador to the US Neven Jurica.
By signing the agreement the two countries are promoting cooperation so as to prevent the moving and transporting of weapons for mass destruction via the sea.
US Congressman George Radanovich hailed Croatia for signing the agreement with the US. He expressed satisfaction with Croatia taking a proactive role in the initiative for the prevention of the spreading of arms for mass destruction.
