Tomcic said the HSS had good reason to be satisfied. He added that after the leaders of virtually every party leaders had expressed satisfaction with the election results, it was difficult to say who was the winner because there were parties speaking in line with the principle "the wish is father to the thought," alluding to the HDZ.
Tomcic said the HDZ should admit that it was "utterly defeated" at the local polls, which he added was due to the party's complete inability to resolve the country's social and economic progress and failed relations with the European Union and the Hague war crimes tribunal.
He said the upshot would be early parliamentary elections before the year's end.
