Wednesday considered the latest economic and monetary trends, adopted annual
report on the performance of the central bank and the Croatian Monetary
Institute in 2004, the bank said in a press release. The beginning
of the year was characterised by a slower economic growth, a higher inflation,
the continuation of appreciation pressure on the exchange rate, the higher
liquidity in the banking sector, and the state's short-term debt to cover the
discrepancy between the trends of budgetary revenue and expenditure.
The session was chaired by Deputy Governor Boris Vujcic.
