ZAGREB, May 1 (Hina) - In the second year of its membership in the
European Union, Slovakia will continue to push for the opening of accession
talks with Croatia, Slovak Foreign Minister Eduard Kukan told Radio Slovakia on
Sunday. Kukan said he considered further EU enlargement as the
greatest challenge faced by the bloc.
"The greatest challenge for the EU in the forthcoming period will be
the start of talks with Croatia and Turkey. The issue of Ukraine's European
prospects will also be on the agenda. These issues will have to be dealt with
in such a way that will eventually make the Union stronger and not weaker,"
Kukan said.
