LUXEMBOURG, April 26 (Hina) - Croatia will try to restore mutual trust at today's meeting with the EU task force in charge of evaluating Zagreb's cooperation with the Hague war crimes tribunal and it views the task force's first meeting as the start of a process expected to have a positive outcome, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said in Luxembourg on Tuesday.

"We will try to restore mutual trust and say that we are working together towards having Croatia fulfil all the conditions for the start of accession negotiations, which continues to be our main objective," Sanader said after a one-hour meeting with his Luxembourg counterpart and EU president Jean-Claude Juncker.

Sanader is heading a Croatian delegation meeting with the European Union task force for the first time today. The task force is comprised of the foreign ministers of Luxembourg, Great Britain and Austria, EU foreign and security policy chief Javier Solana and Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn.

Prior to meeting the Croatian delegation, the task force will hear the latest assessment of Croatia's cooperation with the UN court to be made by chief prosecutor Carla del Ponte.

"This is the first meeting at which Croatia will present its arguments, but it won't be a duel with chief prosecutor del Ponte, rather a proposal to cooperate in this case because we share the same goal, full cooperation with the Hague tribunal. I don't expect anything special. This is the beginning of a process which I hope will have a positive outcome for Croatia," said Sanader.

Luxembourg PM Juncker said his Croatian counterpart had briefly informed him about the latest developments in Croatia and the countries in Southeast Europe.

The task force meeting will be preceded by a meeting of the Stabilisation and Association Council, a Croatia-EU body monitoring the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
