"We have managed to overcome problems from the past and Serbia and Croatia are now turning more and more to the future," Stanicic said, adding that bilateral trade in 2004 reached 440 million US dollars.
Croatia's exports to Serbia and Montenegro last year rose by 50 percent in relation to 2003, while imports from Serbia and Montenegro rose by 84 percent, Stanicic told reporters in Valjevo.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the economic potential of Kolubara, Macva and Drina River regions, in order to reach concrete agreements on cooperation among companies from the two countries.
After talking to local officials and business people, the Croatian diplomats met managers of the "Krusik" army factory to discuss possible cooperation.
