"I was given firm assurances that at the next Council of Ministers meeting the Czech Republic will be much more determined with regard to Croatia's accession to the European Union, namely to the opening of negotiations with Brussels," Seks said after the talks.
The press conference was also addressed by former Czech Ambassador to Croatia Jiri Kudela, currently the chief of the Foreign Ministry Department for Southeast and East Europe. He said a bright future awaited Croatia in Europe because it had all the trump cards to become a brilliant EU member.
Seks's talks with Svoboda wrapped up his first official visit to the Czech Republic.
A meeting with Prime Minister Stanislav Gross scheduled for the afternoon was cancelled due to a government crisis.
