The event took place from April 1 to 7 and featured nine new and old Croatian films. It closed with the screening of "Ta divna splitska noc (That Beautiful Split Night)", a 2004 film by Arsen Anton Ostojic, in a packed Aero Theatre in Santa Monica.
On the last evening Dabby Vandermeulen, director of the Hartley-Merril Film Foundation, presented special awards for scenario to Croatian directors Ostojic, Mile Rupcic and Ivo Kapetanovic, the Croatian Consul General to Los Angeles, Sanja Bujas-Juraga, told Hina.
The Hartley-Merril Film Foundation promotes the work of screenplay writers in Central and Eastern Europe.
The event was organised by the American Film Library Association, the Cameo association of Los Angeles film workers of Croatian origin and the Croatian Consulate General to Los Angeles, and sponsored by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and the Croatian National Tourism Board.
