"That is the foundation of and main argument on our road to independent Kosovo," Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said in Racak, a village 30 km south of Pristina.
The UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague accused Serbia's security forces of the massacre, namely their superiors with then President Slobodan Milosevic at the helm. Milosevic is suspected for the crime in the part of his indictment referring to Kosovo.
Haradinaj, a senior commander of the former Kosovo Liberation Army, said the "Racak victims remind us of all the people killed for the freedom of Kosovo". He added war veterans would be provided for.
