Croatian Foreign Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic said that the purpose of the event was not only to lobby for Croatia's admission to the EU and NATO, but to promote Istria as a tourist destination.
The first to finish the race of nine boats was one with a Danish-Belgian-Croatian crew, comprised of Danish Ambassador Berno Kjeldsen, Belgian Ambassador Johanne Roccas and Tomislav Car, advisor on European integration to Croatian President Stjepan Mesic.
On Sunday the foreign diplomats will visit the inland areas of Istria.
