The document, compiled by this major Bosnian Croat party, is viewed as a response to a similar document proposed by a four-party bloc led by the Social Democratic Party in December.
The HDZ BiH platform entitled "Basics of Parliamentary Majority for the European Future of Bosnia and Herzegovina" reiterates the party's commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina as founded on the pillars of absolute constitutional and institutional equality of all peoples and citizens, with the aim of preserving and building a peaceful, stable, just and functioning state.
This party also calls for respecting the electoral legitimacy given by a majority in each constituent people and for forming the government in accordance with the political will expressed by the three constituent peoples: Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs.
Engaged in a battle to ensure the necessary majority are one bloc consisting of the SDP (Social Democratic Party), the SDA (Party of Democratic Action) and two Croat parties - the HSP and a party led by the businessmen Lijanovic brothers - and one bloc including another two Croatian parties - the HDZ BiH and the HDZ 1990 - which enjoy the support of major Bosnian Serb parties.
Bosnian Serb parties already rejected the platform proposed by the SDP-led bloc.
