The Croatian parliamentarian said that the most important task facing Bosnia and Herzegovina was the establishment of a new government in accordance with the results of the October 2010 general elections.
"With regard to the election results, it now seems possible to establish a government that will include political parties that won about a half or slightly less than a half of votes of all Croats who went to the polls," said Pusic, a senior official of the Croatian People's Party (HNS).
She said that this might not be an ideal solution, but that it was the only possible one under the current circumstances.
Only after the country's authorities are established, can a regional initiative for stabilising the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina be expected to be launched by Croatia, according to Pusic.
Explaining her proposal that Bosnia and Herzegovina be re-arranged into five cantons, Pusic said that she had thought about the possibility of having three cantons, with each of them predominantly populated by one of the three constituent peoples (Bosniaks-Muslims, Croats and Serbs), and the remaining two being mixed cantons "as a guarantee for a future civic state".
"My proposal is an attempt to trigger discussions on this topic and to have various ideas clearly expressed," she said.
