ZAGREB, July 20 (Hina) - Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Thursday received a delegation of the Italian Union, headed by the Union's new president Furio Radin and Executive Council chairman Maurizio Tremul, as part of regular meetings
between the Croatian government and the Italian minority on the implementation of a programme agreement on support for the government.
ZAGREB, July 20 (Hina) - Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Thursday
received a delegation of the Italian Union, headed by the Union's new president
Furio Radin and Executive Council chairman Maurizio Tremul, as part of regular
meetings between the Croatian government and the Italian minority on the
implementation of a programme agreement on support for the government. Congratulating Radin and Tremul on their election, Sanader said that the
government would continue implementing its minorities policy, expressing his
satisfaction with the work of the permanent commission in charge of monitoring
the implementation of the treaties between Croatia and Italy relating to
minority rights.
The prime minister also highlighted the importance of cooperation with
the Italian minority in the Croatian Parliament.
The representatives of the Italian Union said they were pleased with
how the programme agreement was being implemented.
It was agreed that the next meeting of the permanent commission would
be held in the northern Adriatic town of Pula in the autumn.
