SARAJEVO, April 19 (Hina) - The Commission on the Constitution of
the Bosnian Parliament's House of Representatives on Wednesday positively
assessed after a two-day debate amendments to the Bosnian Constitution drawn up
on the basis of an agreement between seven political parties and decided to
send them to the state parliament for consideration and adoption.
Five of the nine members of the Commission voted for the amendments, while two
Croat representatives, Martin Raguz and Filip Andric, who had previously voiced
opposition to the amendments, walked out of the session before the vote.
Representatives of the seven political parties earlier in the day
discussed some minor changes to the previously agreed text of the
amendments.
The House of Representatives will decide on the adoption of the
amendments at a session scheduled for April 25.
The President of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sulejman Tihic,
said there were guarantees that the amendments would be supported by 27 of the
42 deputies in the lower house, which he said was sufficient for their
adoption.
