The rating was carried out on Friday at the end of an international military exercise within the Partnership for Peace programme, conducted since 3 April on the Croatian Army "Eugen Kvaternik" training ground at Slunj and partly at the Plitvice Lakes.
At the same time, all 36 participants in a course for NATO evaluators from 18 countries received a training certificate, including six evaluators from the Croatian Armed Forces.
The Croatian units that received a top rating are the First Company of the First Guards Brigade known as The Tigers, the "Lucko" Helicopter Company of the Croatian Air Force, and a medical team. They will have to pass a second level of evaluation before being allowed to take part in a NATO peacekeeping operation.
