The signing ceremony was attended by the signatories to the agreement, the presonal envoy of the OSCE president, General Claudio Sampaolo, and representatives of the Contact Group.
The agreement was amended to adjust it to Bosnia-Herzegovina's new law on defence under which defence authority is transferred from the level of the country's two entities to the central bodies of state authority.
Thus Bosnia-Herzegovina, which is made up of three constituent nations, becomes one of the parties to the Agreement.
The Agreement on Subregional Arms Control was signed on 14 June 1996 in Florence, where its tenth anniversary will be commemorated this year.
