The court also ruled that the 15,000 euros deposited by her lawyers as security in return for the earlier arrest warrant to be lifted so that she could attend her husband's funeral last week, would be paid into the judicial budget.
Markovic left Serbia in February 2003 and two months later an international warrant for her arrest was issued. The warrant was withdrawn twice after her lawyers provided verbal assurances that she would show up for trial -- on 31 May 2005 and 15 March 2006 after Milosevic died in his cell at the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague. Despite the assurances, Markovic did not attend her husband's funeral.
Markovic, who lives in Russia, is wanted by the Serbian Ministry of the Interior for an interview in connection with the murder of former Serbian president Ivan Stambolic, which occurred in August 2000.
