The joint committee expressed strong support to Croatia's EU membership bid.
According to Gordan Jandrokovic, who co-chairs the committee on Croatia's behalf, the committee offers clear and unequivocal message about the backing to Croatia's efforts to join the European Union.
Pal Schmit, who co-chairs the body on behalf of the European Parliament, said that it was evident that Croatia was on its road towards the EU full membership, and that it should be added to Bulgaria and Romania when one spoke about the further enlargement of the Union.
The committee also on Tuesday accepted a proposal for the establishment of a free trade zone thorough the enlargement of CEFTA (Central European Free Trade Agreement), and called on the EU administration in Brussels to find mechanisms for including Croatia into plans for the EU financial perspective in the 2007-2013 period.
