Produced by Interfilm and Croatian Television, the comedy is the first Croatian film and the first feature film from the region to have been selected to compete in the festival, Sorak said on Sunday.
The Tribeca Film Festival was established in 2002 by US actor Robert De Niro and director Martin Scorsese. Its fifth edition is scheduled to take place from April 25 to May 7.
Sorak's film is about two young Bosnian men, one Croat and one Serb, who are chosen by an intelligence agent assisting in the defence of a Croatian officer accused of war crimes to pretend to be the key defence witnesses owing to physical resemblance.
