Minister Grabar Kitarovic thanked Cyprus for its support for the opening of Croatia's EU membership talks.
She described bilateral relations as good, saying there was room for the improvement of cooperation, particularly on the economic front, according to the press release.
In 2005, trade between Croatia and this island country totalled 88 million US dollars, with Croatia's exports accounting for 85 million.
The Cypriot leaders pointed out the significance of Grabar Kitarovic's visit as the first visit of a Croatian foreign minister since the country gained independence.
The hosts offered information on Cyprus's experience from accession negotiations before joining the EU.
Grabar Kitarovic also visited Croatian members of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP). The Croatian contingent, whose engagement has been assessed as very positive, consists of two police officers and two military officers.
