ZAGREB, March 3 (Hina) - Tomislav Marcinko, the executive director of the 'Orfej' record company, which is owned by the Croatian national broadcasting corporation (HRT), has said that he has been given a dismissal without notice after he publicly claimed that he possessed a list of HRT employees who used to work for the KOS and UDBA security agencies in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

In line with a proposal of HRT top officials, who are members of Orfej's assembly, Orfej Director Blago Markotic yesterday presented me with an extraordinary dismissal, Marcinko told Hina on Friday.

HRT Spokesman Janos Roemer has said that he cannot yet comment on the information given that relevant legal procedure is under way.

Marcinko said that the explanation of the decision reads that his recent interview with the Vecernji List daily, in which he claimed that dozens of Croatian Television (HTV) journalists and editors used to work for the ex-Yugoslav intelligence services, caused an intolerant atmosphere towards the HRT and led to "an extremely unsound working atmosphere and intolerance at the HRT", which is why he could no longer work in Orfej.

Marcinko announced that he would appeal against his dismissal.
