By launching membership talks with the European Union, Croatia has made a great step forward on its European road, but Zagreb is aware of its responsibility and role with regard to the stability and security of the region and is willing to actively strengthen regional cooperation, the Croatian minister said.
She called on the EU to continue offering clear European prospects to south-eastern European countries, which encouraged the countries concerned to carry out necessary reforms.
The Croatian minister said, among other things, that the primary motive for countries to conduct the necessary reforms should be the benefit of their citizens and that they should not perceive the reforms as something imposed from outside.
