ZAGREB, Feb 24 (Hina) - Croatia's Agriculture Ministry has
reported that an analysis which the Waybridge laboratory conducted on tissue of
a cow, which was believed to be infected with mad cow disease, has shown that
the cow has not contracted that disease. Croatia is going to inform
relevant European Union institutions about the negative results of the test.
Ministry officials will hold a news conference in Zagrbe later in the
day.
Preliminary analyses, which Croatian laboratories conducted on the
suspicious cow from eastern Croatia earlier this month, showed positive
results. However, the competent laboratory from the British city of Weybridge
reported that the findings of the final analysis showed the negative
results.
