This was the first meeting of Croatian and Spanish parliamentary representatives. The Croatian delegation was led by committee chairman Gordan Jandrokovic.
The officials expressed satisfaction with the bilateral relations and a wish to further intensify them.
Jandrokovic expressed gratitude for Spain's support for the launching of Croatia's European Union entry negotiations, the technical and advisory assistance provided in the integration process, and the promised sharing of Spain's experience.
The officials also said all Mediterranean countries should intensify cooperation within the EU with a view to establishing a zone of stability and security in the Mediterranean. They also underlined the need to strengthen Croatia's Mediterranean dimension and its future role in the region as an EU member.
