ZAGREB, Feb 3 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks
has sent a letter of condolence to Ahmad Fatehi Srour, the speaker of the
People's Assembly of Egypt, on the sinking of an Egyptian ferry carrying about
1,300 people in the Red Sea. Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, also on
Thursday, sent a letter of condolence to his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed
Nazif.
The ship carrying nearly 1,300 passengers sank in the Red Sea overnight
on a trip from Saudi Arabia to Egypt. Search and rescue teams pulled at least
100 survivors and 45 bodies from the water, according to the latest figures
published by the BBC and the news agency Reuters.
