ZAGREB, Jan 29 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic extendedcondolences on Sunday to his Polish counterpart Lech Kaczynski overthe accident in Chorzow near Kattowice in which dozens of people werekilled when an exhibition hall
roof collapsed, Mesic's office said.
ZAGREB, Jan 29 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic extended
condolences on Sunday to his Polish counterpart Lech Kaczynski over the
accident in Chorzow near Kattowice in which dozens of people were killed when
an exhibition hall roof collapsed, Mesic's office said. The accident
occurred last evening, when the roof of the hall collapsed during a pigeon
exhibition due to the weight of snow. More than 120 exhibitors and about 500
visitors were in the hall.
According to this morning's figures, the death toll is 65 while more
than 140 people were injured. More than 90 are receiving hospital treatment.
Among the victims were 13 foreigners, Polish officials confirmed.
