"After Rugova's death, the process of adoption of international standards and efforts to define a final status for Kosovo will certainly go on. Rugova's death will not stop it. Perhaps some things will be accelerated. You can see how many state delegations and representatives of international institutions have arrived in Pristina (for the funeral) and all of this reflects a wish to find a solution for Kosovo's status," the Croatian President said in Pristina.
He also said that it would be pointless to postpone the adoption of final solutions for Kosovo as well as for Montenegro as this, he said, was a reality after the disintegration of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY).
Commenting on yesterday's physical assault against two Croatian diplomats in Belgrade, Mesic said that it was now up to Serbian authorities to find the perpetrators.
During his stay in Pristina, Mesic held talks with Albanian President Alfred Moisiu and the UN Civil Administrator in Kosovo, Soren Jessen-Petersen.
