The daily added that an agreement on the sale would be concluded by the end of this week.
Jugorosgas was established in 1996 by Gazprom and its Serbian partners - the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) and the state-run gas importers Progres and Progres Gas Trading - which owned the other half of the newly-established company.
According to the daily, whose report was carried by the APA news agency, the Russian giant is planning to buy a 23-percent stock owned by Progres and Progres Gas Trading at a price of 4.5 million euros.
As the majority owner of Jugorosgas, the Russians would have the exclusive right to be engaged in the extension of the Serbian gas pipeline network to the south of the country.
The network would be extended by 524 kilometres, a project to cost about 100 million euros.
The NIS company, which holds 27 percent of shares in Jugorosgas, has recently shown interest in buying the 23-percent stock. Politika speculates that Progres and Progres Gas Trading will sell its share to Gazprom due to a 418 million euro debt.
