The police carried out an on-the-spot investigation and established that the plaque, bearing the name of the General Consulate of Serbia and Montenegro, written in the Cyrillic and Latin scripts, and a coat-of-arms, had been removed. There was no other damage to the building. The plaque has not been found and the police are looking for the perpetrators.
The Foreign Ministry of Serbia and Montenegro has condemned the incident, the Tanjug news agency reported. The Ministry expects Croatian authorities to find and punish the perpetrators, the Ministry said in a statement.
