WASHINGTON, May 31 (Hina) - The World Bank Board of executive
directors has granted three new loans to Croatia - the second Programme
Adjustment Loan (PAL II), the loan for internal water project and the loan for
financing the Rijeka Gateway project - all together worth 285.3 million euros
(USD378.84 million), the Work Bank said in a statement on Thursday..
The statement says that the World Bank has completed a report on the progress
of its Country Assisting Strategy (CAS) for Croatia which supports the Croatian
Government's strategy for economic growth and reforms necessary for the
successful joining the European Union.
The report is a document on the relevancy of the four-year CAS in the
fiscal years 2005-2008.
In the second half of the CAS period, the World Bank will continue to
support the strategy for economic growth and reforms implemented by the
Croatian government so as to successfully complete the European integration
process.
In the next two year, the Bank is expected to secure 612.8 million
dollars for Croatia.
