ZAGREB, May 30 (Hina) - Clubs of parliamentary parties in the
Croatian Sabor on Wednesday supported the government's proposal that Croatia
join in the observance of World Day for Safety and Health at Work which 120
countries mark on 28 April. During a discussion on this topic,
members of parliament said it was necessary to raise the awareness about
necessary safe and healthy working conditions and warned about numerous
breaches of workers' rights.
Annually, Croatia registers 22,000-25,000 injuries at work, with 800 of
them being serious.
In 1999, twenty one Croatians died of injuries at work, while last year
