SARAJEVO, March 30 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Friday described as successful his first official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina during which he had talks with the most senior officials.

Before leaving Sarajevo for central Bosnia, Sanader said the good atmosphere during the talks, alongside the signing of agreements on dual citizenship and border control, was the most important result of the visit.

Sanader visited the Croatian cultural society Napredak, saying Croatia would continue to support Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina and their associations. He underlined that Bosnian Croats were not a burden to Croatia and that they did not need compassion.

"They are a constituent people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and there is no Bosnia and Herzegovina without the Croat people," he said, adding that Zagreb's aid to Bosnian Croats would be reflected in direct talks with Sarajevo, the international community, and Bosnian Croat political leaders.

Sanader said he expected the divided Bosnian Croat politicians to start closely cooperating soon. Recalling that yesterday he talked with the leaders of the HDZ BiH and HDZ 1990 parties, Sanader said he expected "much closer and better cooperation so that these two parties, which have identical platforms, to unite".

He confirmed the Croatian government would seriously consider the possibility of Napredak being directly funded from the Croatian state budget, and that the restitution of the society's company would continue. Sanader also pledged support for the construction of Napredak student hostel in Zagreb.
