ZAGREB, Jan 31 (Hina) - The president of the strongest opposition
party, the Social Democrats, told reporters on Wednesday he was diagnosed with
an atypical tumor of his left shoulder, announcing he would withdrew from the
politics until the surgery, scheduled to take place in the near future,
possibly next week. "Depending on the results of the surgery, I will
make adequate decisions, namely I will decide whether to return or definitely
leave the politics," Ivica Racan told reporters.
He said that until the results of the surgery, his deputy Zeljka
Antunovic would be at the helm of the party.
